Throwback Thursday

Fourteen years ago this month, I was in Los Angeles having surgery to correct a rare voice disorder that left me struggling to speak. Knowing my throat would be cut open was a bit alarming, but Dr. Gerald Berke, and his brilliant team of doctors at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, gave me my life back that day. My gratitude can't be measured.

The dear twin traveled with me, and, with Hurricane Ike roaring ashore that same week, it was a memorable journey from beginning to end. I can't sing like I once did, but I can still sing, and, best of all, I can talk. I love talking. Yak, yak, yak. Happy Throwback Thursday, everyone. I hope you made some beautiful memories.
