Looking Back

Sometimes you have to look back and see where you've been in order to truly appreciate where you are. This evening, I randomly selected an old journal from the shelf and thumbed through it. Part of it was from 2006, a difficult year, filled with emotional pain, financial need and physical challenges. Almost every entry was heavy with emotion, and as I read the words of a woman, exposing her weaknesses and baring her soul, I was overcome with gratitude for how far I’ve come and how faithful God has been.

No, my life isn’t perfect today, and some prayers, I’m still praying. But things that seemed impossible during that bleak season are now reality. Bad things that happened during that bleak season have worked out for my good. It reaffirmed my faith and renewed my resolve to keep on keeping on. God is with me, today, tomorrow, always.
