God Is Concerned

I never cease to be amazed at God’s love for me. You’d think I’d be used to it by now, but the fact that the King of Kings is concerned with all that concerns me is never humdrum. Yesterday, out of the blue, I was contacted by a long-time friend who asked me to call him. During our conversation, not only did he speak words of encouragement about a personal situation that only God and a handful of other people know about, he also reminded me how God had freed him from the forces of evil many years ago. His powerful story was so relevant to the things weighing heavy on my heart, and his happy ending was just what I needed to strengthen my resolve and give me fresh hope that God is bigger than anything.

Some of you might get a bit weary of Gayle and her faith, but that’s OK. When I have phone calls like the one I’ve described, and I remember countless other times when people reached out to me, and had dreams about me, and were awakened in the middle of the night with a word straight from God for me, how can I not believe that God loves me, and sees me, and knows the many emotions that I deal with each and every day? How can I not believe that nothing is impossible with him, even though the mountain seems to grow taller and taller with time? How can I not believe that he sees my tears, hears me cry, and is working while I wait? How can I not believe?
To the one who reached out to me yesterday, thank you for being sensitive to God and caring about things I care about. I wept this morning, remembering your words, and I thanked the King of Kings once again that he is concerned with all that concerns me.
Matthew 10:29-31 says, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
If you needed reminding, my friend, consider this post a little reminder that whatever you face now or might face in the year ahead, God is concerned with all that concerns you, too—big things, little things, all things—and nothing is too hard for him to do.
