Outside my window, firecrackers are already announcing 2022. I don’t know what the new year will bring, but 2021 taught me a lot and reaffirmed these old truths:
1. Saying goodbye to your father leaves a big hole in your heart.
2. Fear destroys one’s ability to think rationally.
3. Telling a lie multiple times will never make it the truth.
4. Not everyone who has money is rich.
5. Not everyone who is penniless is poor.
6. Hope deferred makes the heart sick.
7. Laughter doeth good, like a medicine.
8. Religious men aren’t always righteous men.
9. Believing in a good God helps you get through bad things.
10. Being strong often requires doing nothing.
Here's wishing you love, promise and peace, and may God's grace fill each day of the coming new year.
