It’s Friday afternoon, y’all. I hope you’ve had a good week. The best part of mine was sitting on the porch at Murdochs, watching the sun’s magnificent descent. I’ve done many spontaneous and solo getaways to Galveston, but this week’s was the best one ever. The beaches were mostly empty. The sand was pristine. The weather was absolutely perfect. The cuisine was divine. The seaside dining couldn’t have been better.
The Strand was pleasingly quiet, and my go-to hotel was firing on all cylinders as never before. It was, indeed, a refreshing and restorative time, letting go of those things that trouble me and letting my hair blow in the wind.
George Washington Carver once said, "I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in." Whether it’s the beach, the mountains, or in my own backyard, the Creator’s creation soothes my soul like nothing else can. I pray you have a beautiful and blessed weekend, and that those you love love you back.
