Today she and I will be apart, working different shifts, helping care for our precious big sister, Elaine as she recovers from surgery. We aren’t spring chickens anymore, and caring for the sick can be tough physically, but it’s where we choose to be. Happy birthday to you, dear Dayle. You are my gift from God, forever and always.

Happy Birthday, Dayle
Happy birthday to my beloved twin sister. She was born seven minutes before I was, and it was a long seven minutes without her, if I recall. She is the strongest, wisest, most compassionate person I know. During the darkest days of my life, she was there, sitting with me, crying with me, sacrificing herself to hold my head above water until I could find strength to swim again. She’s still there when days grow dark, and she’s also there when the sun is shining, laughing with me and eating ice-cream.
