Goodness and Mercy

Today was one of those wonderful and rare nippy October mornings in Southeast Texas. After answering some work emails, I donned a light jacket, sat out the trash, built a fire, brewed some coffee and thanked my Heavenly Father for goodness and mercy that follow me every single day of my life. Nippy days. Hot days. Sunny days. Rainy days. Happy days. Sad days. Healthy days. Sick days. Like two tireless, inescapable bodyguards, goodness and mercy are there, following me. I wrote a song a few weeks ago about that remarkable phenomenon. Maybe one day I’ll demo some of my new music and share it with the masses. Until then, however, I’m enjoying serenading myself. A blessed evening to you all, and if today found you feeling helpless, hopeless and alone, take a look behind you, dear friend. Goodness and mercy are there, as far as the eye can see.
