Twin sister and brother-in-love have been married 42 years today. I congratulate them both and admire them more than I can say. If you’ve been married for any length of time, you know that sailing marital seas isn’t always smooth sailing. However, if you look through their 42 photo albums, you’ll see oodles of pictures of them celebrating life even when life wasn’t perfect.
I believe it was 2007 when they bought the RV, and after that, wanderlust took over, and it was hard to find them at home. From the East Coast to the West Coast, they drifted wherever the wind blew for the next several years. Name any landmark and, chances are, they’ve seen it. Name any restaurant and they’ve probably eaten there. And ballparks? Well, they’ve been to almost every one of those, too. These days, you’ll most likely find them pouring love into their grandchildren, leaving indelible marks that time will never erase.
Dayle Allen Shockley and Stan Shockley, your commitment to each other, to your children and grandchildren and to your extended family is remarkable. I hope your day is sunny and bright and that your tomorrows are filled with the best God has to offer. You deserve nothing less. Happy Anniversary!!
