Guestroom Makeover

I keep meaning to show y’all my guestroom. When Mother sold Rosewood, she wanted to keep the mid-century bedroom furniture that I grew up with, so I offered to empty out my guestroom upstairs and take it. I love the furniture, and I knew it would fit perfectly in there. As you can see from the "BEFORE" picture, it took awhile for me to get a “design vision,” but once I got it, I ran with it. It's a tribute to the 70s, with special attention to my high school years and graduation.

Almost everything you see pertains to life in the 70s. My high school diploma. My typewriting award. My graduation cards (yes, I still had them!) Graduation gifts (yes, I still had some!) My teenage diary (no, you can’t read it!) Some old Hallmark planners. My graduation tassel. Yearbooks. Even the plastic “graduate” from our special graduation cake. It’s all there.

I absolutely adore the room, and how it makes me feel when I walk in. I also adore the fabulous wall lamps that I installed all by myself.

A special guest is planning to come visit me soon. Fingers crossed.
