Happy Father’s Day to all you dear fathers out there. Your role is often disparaged and even dismissed by some in our society, and that’s too bad. You hold an important, irreplaceable position in your children’s lives, and they will always need you, even when they’re grown.
If you had a bad father, or an absent father, why don’t you be the father you wish you had? You don’t have to be perfect, but you do have to be present.
I can’t imagine how my life would have turned out had my father not been there to love me, provide for me, guide me and pray for me. He wasn’t perfect, but he was there. This is one of my favorite pictures of Daddy—tall, handsome and debonair—with his squinting little girls. He still calls me his little girl, and his influence in my life is immeasurable.
