DAYS OF MY LIFE: Happy 31st, Leslie!

My one and only turns 31 today. She’s been my sunshine since she was born. I love her with all my heart, and I’m grateful God made me her mother.

Gayle: I have been divorced since 2002. My Christian faith and my loving family keep me grounded. I love music, writing and photography, and have been rewarded in all three. My music has been recorded by numerous artists and has appeared on "Southern Gospel's Top 40" In 2022, I was inducted into my hometown's "Walk of Fame." Receiving the "Golden Pen Award" from "The Dallas Morning News," launched a whole new era of op-ed writing for me. Along with being a freelance editorial contributor to the Dallas Morning News from 1998-2012, my by-line has appeared in "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books, the "Ft. Worth Star-Telegram," "Houston Chronicle," "Beaumont Enterprise," "Houston Woman Magazine," and my story "Tears, Tantrums and Trust" was named an Honorable Mention in the Spiritual category for the 88th Writer’s Digest Writing Competition. My photography has been published in various periodicals and has brought me joy through the years. My greatest titles are mother and grandmother, and my prayer is to make a difference in the lives of those around me. gayleacox@att.net
