In a few hours, the clock will strike midnight and this year will be history. Without question, it’s been an extraordinary year for me, of highs and lows, ecstasy and agony, new experiences and old truths. The details would fill a book, but these 10 things I’m sure of as 2016 ticks away:
1. Being estranged from someone you love doesn’t get easier with time.
2. Counting calories works; I’m totally skinny minny.
3. Opening a door comes with risks.
4. Leaving a door closed comes with consequences.
5. What you’ve never pursued can be exactly what you need.
6. If you want something money can buy, there’s no time like today.
7. Pain and suffering often precede better things.
8. When life makes no sense, there’s always a bigger picture.
9. The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing.
10. I can do all things through Christ.
No matter what 2016 held for you, I trust you are stronger for the journey, and I pray 2017 is filled with promise and peace. Happy New Year’s Eve!
