If today finds you floundering in the sea of despondency, feeling hopeless, anxious and afraid, I know where you are, my friend. And I know how easy it is to let the riptide of despair pull you under. You don’t necessarily want to drown, but it's much easier than staying afloat. During those times of mental and emotional struggles, I have learned that locking eyes with Jesus is my only way of escape. He’s never far, and he’s the only one who truly understands where I’ve been, where I am, and the battles I fight on a daily basis. May you find grace to trust God with your tomorrows, faith to believe that he’s with you right now, and strength to cry for help in the dark, troubled waters.
“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry,” Psalm 34:15 (NIV).
