Winging My Way Home

I snapped this picture earlier this afternoon as I was winging my way home from Florida. The beverage cart was nearby, and the smell of fresh-brewed coffee was calling my name.

Vacations are a much-needed commodity in life, but flying home is nice, too. It reminds me so much of our Christian journey.

We often encounter turbulence along the way, but despite the shaking and shuddering, we trust the Captain to get us to our destination. Nobody knows when that day will be, of course, but by the signs I’m seeing out the window, I think the landing gear is about to be lowered and we’ll touchdown on the runway soon and taxi to those pearly white gates. I can almost see our loved ones gathered near the entrance, arms opened wide to welcome us home.
A blessed Thursday evening to you all, dear friends. It’s good to be back.
