Exciting News

My dear friends,
I have some very exciting news to share with you. Most of you know that my family moved to Texas in 1969. We bought a home in Vidor in 1970, and that’s where Dayle and I grew from young teens into young ladies. So many memories were made in that town, and here’s the big news: I am going to be inducted into the City of Vidor’s “Walk of Fame” for my accomplishments in the music industry! Oh, my goodness, yes! I think I’ll be the first one to represent the gospel genre, and, if so, that will be such an honor!
My longtime friend, Donice Morace nominated me and presented my bio to the board about a year ago. He told me it was a slow process, but he called me on Friday and told me that I had made the final cut! Needless to say, I am beyond excited and thrilled to be part of such a distinguished group of fellow singers/songwriters.
If you aren’t familiar with the Vidor “Walk of Fame,” it is a way to recognize those in the music industry (i.e., musicians, singers and songwriters) with ties to Vidor who have been successful in their respective fields. For instance, George Jones, Johnny Paycheck, Billie Jo Spears, Tracy Byrd, Clay Walker have all been inducted in the Vidor “Walk of Fame,” along with many others, including Donice’s son, Donice Morace, Jr. who is making a name for himself in country music.
Being recognized for my accomplishments in such a public way is such an incredible honor for me, and I can’t thank Donice enough for putting my name out there. The official ceremony will be March 18th. That’s a Friday, but I would LOVE for any of my Vidor friends (or any other friends) to be a part of this special event. I don’t know all the details, but I’ll pass them along as I know more.
To God be the glory for all he has given and all he has done!
