Unchanging God

Last night was one of those nights where I mainly tossed and turned. As soon as day broke, I got up, made coffee and went outside to enjoy the crisp air and the quietness of morning. I whispered words of praise to the Creator and thanked him that he never changes. He’s always the same. Now and forever, the old song says, his love will remain.
He’s faithful when I’m fickle. He’s kind when I’m cold. He reaches when I wander. He comforts when I cry. He forgives my sins and shortcomings.
The Psalmist David said it best: “He is merciful and tender toward those who don’t deserve it. He is like a father to us, tender and sympathetic to those who reverence him. For he knows we are but dust.”
In a world where people are quick to diss, dismiss and cancel, I’m so glad I have a Father who loves me despite my failures and faults. He’ll never turn his back and walk away. Indeed, now and forever, his love will remain.
Wishing you a peaceful Thursday evening, my friends. Hug someone you love. Life is fragile.
