Silence Is Golden

Remaining silent in the face of false accusations might seem crazy to some, but it’s often the best thing to do, and it’s generally the route I take. I figure those who know me, know me, and those who don’t will believe whatever they want to.
Sadly, we can’t control the lies of others. We can’t control the actions of others. We can’t control the choices others make that bring us pain. But what we CAN control is our attitude, our reactions, our thoughts and our words.
1 Peter 2:23 tells us: “He (Jesus) did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who ‘always’ judges fairly.”
In this era of public forums, remaining silent takes an enormous amount of strength if you’ve been accused of doing things you didn’t do, saying things you didn’t say or behaving in ways you find shameful. However, if you’ll leave your case (and your accuser) in the hands of Him who “always” judges fairly, you can know beyond any shadow of a doubt, that truth WILL triumph, vindication for you WILL come, and those who’ve wronged you WILL reap the bitter seeds they’ve so callously sown—if not in this life, then in the life to come.
