Time Goes By

Yesterday afternoon, the twin and I drove over to spend some time with our parents. With each passing day, I realize more and more what a privilege that is. This morning, as the first rays of dawn filtered through my upstairs window, the old home place was silent and still. I remembered so well, the many years I awoke to the sound of my daddy praying fervently downstairs ... for his family … for his neighbors … and pretty much everyone else in the known universe.
The memories brought tears to my eyes, and from the deep of my soul, I thanked God for parents who showed me what faith looks like, what prayer sounds like and what unconditional love feels like, even on the worst of days. Such priceless gifts they are. I passed them along to my daughter, and every child should be so blessed.
Happy Saturday evening, everyone. Be well.
