Defying All Odds

It’s impossible to fully appreciate this tree unless you see it with your own eyes. I pass it every morning on my way to work, and it has always intrigued me. Somewhere along its journey, it suffered a traumatic event. Yet, year, after year, season, after season, it keeps living and growing, defying all odds.
Many mornings, I've looked at the contorted tree and seen myself—branches on the ground, scarred and forever changed by storms that blew. Yet I’m still breathing, still growing and still trusting in a God that loves me.
Maybe you're experiencing a traumatic event, or maybe you’ve been scarred by one. Either way, I hope this twisted tree inspires you to deepen your roots and defy all odds. Keep living, keep growing and keep trusting in a God that loves you.
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
